Chat Room Rendezvous Leads to Big Trouble for 21-Year-Old - They talked in a chat room, met at a park, and now he's in jail.
Police say 21-year-old Aleksandrs Vitolins was arrested after he met and had sex with a 14-year-old teen.
According to police, the two met in an Internet chat room and decided to get together at 110th and Oakbrook Drive. A passerby saw the teen performing a sex act on the suspect and called police. Read More>>

Online chat leads to statutory rape conviction - A man convicted in Jackson on a statutory rape charge after having sex with a teenager he met online was given a suspended sentence and ordered to register as a sex offender.
According to The Clarion-Ledger, Kenketrick Freeman was 29 when he started chatting with the girl two years ago in an Internet chat room. She was 14 at the time. They met and had sex hours later, leading to Freeman's arrest and conviction.

Pervert posed as girl on internet to get boys to send him naked pictures - A School support worker posed as a girl to persuade more than 90 youngsters to send him naked images of themselves and pose naked over the internet.
Brian Syme targeted boys aged between 12 and 21, including pupils he taught, and befriended them on social networking sites.
The qualified teacher, who had been trained to protect children from sexual exploitation, would chat to them before sending them naked pictures of a teenage girl.
He then asked the boys to send him naked pictures of themselves and encouraged them to perform sex acts in front of webcams from his home in Alloa.
The 32-year-old also had a file named "locals" stored on a pen drive which contained images of boys he had targeted in his area. Read More>>

Sex offender charged with raping girl, 13, in Annapolis - Police said Mason had met one of the girls on the MySpace website about a month ago, and the two kept in regular contact. In their first in-person meeting, he agreed to pick up the girl and her friends, according to police.
The man bought alcohol and offered the beverages and suspected marijuana to the girls when they arrived at the home on St. Margarets Road, police said. He then left the home with one girl to purchase food, according to police. Once at the business, police said Mason parked his vehicle and had sex with the 13-year-old before returning to the residence, where he again engaged in sexual acts with the victim.  Read More>>

Policeman jailed after preying on 'vulnerable' schoolgirl - Russell West, who was an officer with Essex Police, told his 13-year-old victim that she was going to be the mother of his babies and got her to pose topless on a web camera.
The High Court previously heard that West had sexual conversations with the girl even while he was at work, in the belief that he would never be caught
He was traced through painstaking work after the girl went missing from her home and her computer was checked by specialist IT officers from Central Scotland Police.
The 26-year-old admitted last month using the internet to engage in indecent sexual conversations with the schoolgirl and persuading her to expose herself.  Read More>>

Va. Man Guilty Of Trying To Kidnap Mass. Girl, 12 - Man Met Girl In Internet Chat Room.
A Virginia man has been found guilty of trying to kidnap a Massachusetts girl he met in an Internet chat room, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said.
Daniel O’Brien, 32, of Virginia, was found guilty by a Middlesex Superior Court jury on charges of attempted kidnapping and child enticement. Investigators said O'Brien traveled from Virginia in 2009 to meet a pre-teen girl in Littleton he had met over the Internet in a chat room.
“This defendant used the anonymity of the Internet to entice and manipulate the young victim to run away with him,” Leone said.
Investigators said O'Brien admitted to them that he knew the girl's age and he planned to take her back to Virginia. Read More>>

Gloucester internet chat sex abuser jailed - Gloucester internet chat sex abuser jailed for three years.
Dominic Skillern, of Tredworth, admitted finding his victims after posing as a child in internet chat rooms, Gloucester Crown Court heard.
The children concerned were a 14-year-old girl and two boys, aged 12 and 14.
He pretended to be a young boy called Luke in order to cajole the 14-year-old girl into exposing herself to him via webcam.
He posed as a girl called Lexy to trick the boys into committing indecent acts on camera.

Paedo Postie admits charges - POLICE slammed Facebook over security failures today after a paedophile postman used the site to groom up to 1,000 children - scores of whom he sexually abused.
Vile Michael Williams - who kept cuttings about Soham killer Ian Huntley - told cops he was about to escalate his horrific offending when they caught him.
The 'predatory and manipulative' monster created different profiles to target youngsters he met on his round, doing school runs as taxi driver and as the secretary of a football club.
He dyed his hair different colors to hide his identity and tricked his victims into performing sex acts on a webcam or meeting him so he could sexually assault them.
Cops said the vile bisexual invented at least eight fake profiles, pretending to be teenage boys and a girl called 'Gorgeous Charlie' to lure children aged 11 to 16.
Detectives have identified around 500 victims he groomed or abused but believe there could be up to 1,000 in total because hundreds are too scared to come forward. Read More>>

Web chat led to girl's sex assault - City police say a 15-year-old girl was lured from Halton to Brantford and sexually assaulted by a man she met in an internet chat room
A 47-year-old Brantford man is charged with sexual assault, luring a child and invitation to sexual touching.
Police said the man  struck up a relationship with the  Halton girl while on an internet webcam chat room. This encounter led to  further private conversations between the two.

Man gets eight years for victimizing young girls online - Ryan Earl McCann, 20, was sentenced to eight years in prison for exploiting young girls over the Internet.
McCann ran a bogus online chat company called "Talen's Playground," where he told the girls he would pay them thousands to commit sex acts in front of their web cams. Photos were also used to coerce the girls.
Ryan Earl McCann left a "trail of scarred and emotionally fragile young women," said Ontario Court Justice Celynne Dorval .
The female victims, aged 14 to 21, were recruited from online social networking sites and chat programs such as Facebook and MSN for friendly talks that eventually turned ugly. Read More>>

Policeman had sex chats with 13-year-old - A policeman who was using the internet to prey on a 13-year-old girl initially escaped capture after his colleagues failed to recognize a picture of him recovered from his victim’s computer.
West, 26, admitted using the internet to engage in indecent sexual conversations with the schoolgirl and persuade her to expose herself to him.
He told the schoolgirl he wanted to have intercourse with her and cajoled her to show him her breasts on a webcam.
The High Court in Glasgow heard that West even had sexual conversations with the girl while he was work because he believed he would never be caught.
His crimes came to light when the girl, from Clackmannshire, went missing and her computer was seized by Central Scotland Police.
Specialist IT officers analysed her chat room conversations to get clues to her whereabouts and found a large number of messages with ‘Fit Essex Guy’ on the MSN Messenger chat site. Read More>>

Man made teen girls make porn and Pleads guilty to sex, extortion charges - A 20-year-old man admitted Monday to using threats to force teen girls to make sex videos via web cam, pleading guilty to making child pornography, sexual touching and extortion.
Ryan Earl McCann pleaded guilty to 26 charges involving at least 19 victims, all but one under 18 and some as young as 14.
He also admitted threatening to cause death or bodily harm to five victims and communicating over the Internet with five girls under 16 years of age and 10 under 18 years of age in order to commit a crime. Read More>>

Australian man to be jailed in Canada for 'luring' teen on Internet - An Australian man has agreed to serve 15 months' jail in Canada for "luring" a 14-year-old girl over the internet and attempted sexual assault.
Anthony John Porter, 37, a divorced father of three from Woody Point in Queensland, told a judge in the Canadian province of Newfoundland he made "a massive mistake" by communicating with the Canadian girl on a teen internet chat room and then travelling to her hometown of Corner Brook.
The court heard Porter and the girl had communicated for more than a year on the internet when he decided to take vacation time from his job as a technician and fly to Newfoundland to meet the girl.

Paedophile who used internet to groom victims faces life - Byrne, 20, a microbiology student at the University of Glasgow, met victims through chatrooms and encouraged them into sexual activity before meeting up with some underage contacts and committing indecency offences.
He was caught after Central Scotland police set up Operation Defender to investigate computer activity after a 13-year-old schoolgirl went missing from her home. It was found she had communicated with a number of men through the internet.
Byrne met the first girl through an online site in September 2007 and persuaded her to carry out sex acts over a web cam for him before they met at a shopping centre in Glasgow. He travelled to Manchester to meet up with a girl when she was aged 14 and 15 and also had sex with girls aged 13 and 15 at his former flat in Bridge Street, in Glasgow. Raleigh Man Drove to Burlington to Meet 14-Year-Old - Burlington Police say a Raleigh man drove to Burlington to meet a 14-year-old girl he met through an online chat room.
Police say an officer was conducting routine patrol Friday night in the area of North Park Ball Field on N. Park Ave. when a suspicious vehicle was discovered parked in the park. Police say that when the officer passed the park,  the driver of the vehicle, turned the headlights on and drove away. The officer noticed that the vehicle did not have a license plate, and  pulled Dennis over and found the 14-year-old passenger with him. Police investigation found that Dennis had driven from Raleigh to meet the girl whom he had met in an Internet chat room. Read More>>

Man Caught Having Sex In Park With Boy, 15 - A 29-year-old man was released Saturday after being arrested for allegedly having sex in an Alhambra park with a 15-year-old boy he met in an Internet chat room.
Ryan Daniel Carlson was arrested Thursday after an Alhambra police officer allegedly caught him and the teen having sex in a car.
"When the officer made contact with the occupants he found a nude 29-year-old male, Ryan Daniel Carlson, and a 15-year-old male juvenile engaged in sexual activity."

Rochester police bust Internet pervert on Amtrak train with 13-year-old Long Island girl - A pervert was nabbed on a train bound for California as he lay sleeping in a car with a 13-year-old Long Island girl he had met on the Internet, police said.
John Vertrees, 22, was busted in Rochester on a westbound Amtrak train about 10:15 p.m. Friday with the runaway teen, Suffolk County police said.
After the two met in an Internet chat room in January, Vertrees traveled to the teenager's home last week, police said.
The creep slipped through her bedroom window Wednesday night, and the two spent a few hours together, cops said.
On Friday, the girl sneaked out her window about 4 a.m. and met Vertrees, who was waiting for her in a taxi, police said.

Calgary man charged with luring 6 girls - Carl Ryan, 27, used a popular social networking site to approach all six of his alleged victims, who ranged in age from 12 to 17, according to a task force made up of RCMP and Calgary police officers.
He was originally arrested on Aug. 12, 2009 and charged with a single count of luring and three counts relating to child pornography involving one victim, police said.
"The suspect will ask the young victims to take images of themselves and send them online, so in effect they're counseling them to commit the making of their own child pornography," she said.
"Everybody tells their children … don't talk to strangers, lock the door when you're home alone," said Krasman. "The internet is a door that we cannot lock so we need to be as vigilant with our children online as … when we send them out to the playground to play."
She advised parents and guardians to take the time to sit down and see what their children are doing on the internet. Read More>>

Eagle man pleads guilty in sex assault - A 25-year-old Eagle County man pleaded guilty today to sexually assaulting a child he met in an Internet chat room.
Adolfo Guardado of Edwards accepted a plea deal and in exchange for his pleading guilty to sex assault on a child and second-degree assault will spend 10 years in prison, then he will be deported to Mexico, according to Eagle County officials.
He was arrested last May, accused of assaulting the 12-year-old in a cabin on U.S. Forest Service land about 10 miles from Wolcott, investigators said.
According to investigators, Guardado had been chatting online and phoning the girl for some time when she asked him for a ride to school on May 18.
He dropped her off at school after the assault, according to the Eagle County Sheriff's Office. Read More>>

Labrador man accused soliciting child porn from U.S. girl - Mark Baxter White, 40, of Labrador was arrested Friday in connection with child porn involving a young girl from the U.S.
He's charged with making, possessing and distributing child pornography and luring a child via the Internet.
White allegedly contacted the young girl via the Internet and got her to perform sexual acts from her computer, police said.
The victim reported the man to the FBI, who then contacted Canada's National Child Exploitation Co-ordination Centre, whose officials passed the information along to local police, said Newell.
CBC reports White is an English teacher and librarian at Mealy Mountain Collegiate in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L. The Labrador District School Board has sent a letter home to parents to explain the situation.  Read More>>

Ohio man charged with sex ofenses in Ala. - Tuscaloosa County sheriff's deputies have charged a 28-year-old Ohio man with sex-related crimes after he was found in the bedroom of a teenager.
Matthew Brandon Rogers faces charges of soliciting a child by computer, second-degree sexual abuse, enticing a child and possession of child pornography.
Sheriff Ted Sexton said the mother of a 14-year-old Duncanville girl found Rogers in her daughter's bedroom on Sunday.
The sheriff said Rogers befriended the girl on an Internet chat room and late last week left his home in the Cincinnati metro area and drove to Tuscaloosa. Read More>>

Man jailed for sex with 13-year-old girl - POLICE have warned of the dangers of social networking sites after an Essex man was jailed for having sex with a 13-year-old he met in an internet chat room.
James Grenfell of Braintree groomed his young victim on a popular website for youngsters and when they absconded a massive nationwide man hunt was launched.
Pictures of the 22-year-old were put out by police forces across the country as detectives feared the teenage girl had been abducted from her Torquay home.
Speaking afterwards, police warned parents to be on their guard.

Man found guilty of grooming and raping 13-year-old boy - A 33-YEAR-OLD man has been found guilty of grooming and raping a 13-year-old boy.
Gregor McMurtrie, of Leybridge Court, Lee, was also convicted at Woolwich Crown Court of inciting his teenage victim to take part in sexual activity.
The boy was approached by McMurtrie via a chat room on the internet in the early hours of August 23 last year.
He suggested they meet that morning and at around 6.15am they went back to McMurtrie’s house.
The victim tried to leave but McMurtrie would not let him and then raped him.  Read More>>

Scottish sex predator student faces prison - A student described by prosecutors as one of Scotland's most dangerous sexual predators has admitted 32 charges related to the abuse of children.
Andrew Byrne, 20, used the internet to groom and abuse 19 children, aged between eight and 15, a court heard.
He sexually assaulted some victims and subjected others to indecent behaviour between September 2007 and July 2009.
A 13-year-old girl from Manchester then met Byrne through another chat service.
Byrne travelled down twice to meet her in 2008 and 2009 and recorded them being involved in "explicit sexual activity". He later forwarded the images on to nine other people.
Byrne then had sex with two underage girls, aged 13 and 15, in 2008 at a flat in the Glasgow's Bridge Street. Read More>>

Two men raped 14yo internet girl - Two Victorian men gave alcohol to a 14-year-old girl one of them met on an internet chat service before they both raped her, a court has heard.
The Melbourne Magistrates Court heard Handros met the girl through the MSN internet chat service a year earlier and they swapped photos and agreed to meet.
The accused bought vodka and supplied the girls with four to five alcoholic drinks over 30 minutes.
Singh then drove the four of them to his property in Lalor where they drank more alcohol.
Det Sen Const Muileman said Singh indecently assaulted the 14-year-old before taking her to a bedroom, locking the door and forcing her to have sex.

Sask. mom embraces paranoia after daughter's abduction - A Saskatchewan woman says she is now "super-paranoid" after her 13-year-old daughter was lured on the Internet and later taken out of the province by a 41-year-old man.
"This will always be with us. It scared the heck out of her," the woman said in an interview.
The girl, then a top student at her school in Swift Current, Sask., met Daniel George Nickolson of Windsor, Ont., in an Internet chat room in December 2007. During the next four months, they chatted online and later by phone.
In the early morning of March 18, 2008, a taxi with Nickolson in the back seat pulled up to the end of the driveway at the family's farm. The girl had crawled out a window and was waiting on the road with a packed suitcase.
"People don't take this seriously, but it's easier to manipulate children. Educate your kids. Monitor them on the computer."the girl's mother said. "It's scary." Read More>>

Internet luring trial to open  - Victoria man accused of abucting 12-year-old girl - Albert Quinones was charged in 2008 with abducting a person under 14 years old, obstructing police, luring by computer, possession of child pornography and sexual interference with a person under 14. He was 24 at the time.
Quinones is alleged to have contacted the girl, in Grade 7 at the time, via an Internet chat room.
She was reported missing to Vancouver police by her parents Jan. 18, 2008. The mother told police the girl had previous contact with a Victoria man in a chat room. Read More>>

Woman arrested for luring - A Barrie teenager is distraught after his online flame was arrested upon returning to Texas where she could face a stiff jail sentence.
A Texas woman who travelled to Barrie last week to meet a 16-year-old boy she'd met on the Internet is not facing any charges in Canada, but she was nabbed by police Tuesday morning after her plane landed in Houston.
Lauri Price, 42, has been charged in Texas with two counts of online solicitation of a minor and one count of child enticement.
However, Texas law enforcement officials say Price could also face federal charges, including child sex tourism, where a person travels outside the country with the intent of having sex with a minor.
Family members say Barrie teenager Andrew Kane is distraught over what has transpired with his online girlfriend, whom he met more than a year ago through an online chat room devoted to the video gameWorld of Warcraft. Read More>>

California man faces decade in federal prison for traveling here for sex with Wayland teen - A 31-year-old California man faces a mandatory 10 years in federal prison after he admitted to traveling to West Michigan to have sex with a 15-year-old Wayland area girl he met in an Internet chat room.
Jason Michael Wood pleaded guilty to the 2008 offense of enticing a minor to engage in sex under a plea agreement that dismissed four other felony charges.
Wood told a judge he and the victim began corresponding in the chat room and on the phone in 2007.
