Kingston man faces more charges for internet luring, child pornography - At the time of his arrest, police alleged that a man preyed upon girls between the ages of nine and 15 by impersonating their friends and making them perform sexual acts in front of a webcam.

Children admit e-mailing photos to strangers online - ALMOST three quarters of children in a survey out today admitted they have given their e-mail address, a photograph of themselves or their phone number to a stranger they met online. There are computer monitoring programs available that would notify a designated person about events like these, these programs should be used more often. Researchers found 73 per cent of seven to 16-year-olds had handed over the personal information on the internet to someone they had never met before. Read More>>

Officials say teen coerced into exposing herself with Web cam - A New York man faces federal charges after police said he threatened a young teenage girl from Ohio and coerced her into using a Web camera to take explicit images that he later posted on the online social network Myspace.com.
Brown met the 13-year-old girl in an online chat room for cheerleaders, according to court documents.
Police said he pursued her with sexually explicit instant messages and threatened to harm her and her family if she didn't expose herself via the Web cam. Read More>>

Man who contacted 14-year-old via Internet gets probation, year in jail - A Lahaina man who initiated contact with a 14-year-old girl on the Internet, eventually persuading her to go with him to a secluded Spreckelsville road, was ordered to spend a year in jail in a hearing Friday in 2nd Circuit Court.

An investigation by Milwaukee police into Internet child pornography has yielded some surprising results: high school honor roll students from solid middle class families who are stunned when police roll up to their homes with a search warrant for their computers.
"All of the kids coming in are good students and come from good homes, but they are accessing child pornography," said Lori Kornblum, an assistant district attorney who heads the sensitive crimes unit at Children's Court.
